How the list works
The recommendations are yours. The checking is ours. Every name was put forward by a Troll reader, or asked to be listed. Nobody joins the checked list until we have checked their locality, two local referees, ABN, licence where required, and insurance.
Some tradies pay for the longer write-up and Premium position. Payment never buys a place on the list, never changes a check, and never buys a review.
Reviews on big sites can come from anyone, anywhere. Every review we publish is from a verified local who had the work done; we hold their details, confirm the job and may ring them to check. Trades never see a review before you do. Read the full standard.

Trusted means checked, not guaranteed. The Troll reports the evidence available on the checked date and keeps the list deliberately short.
